ABOUT MAIN & OAK EVENT PLANNER

My name is Trina Henderson
Co-Owner, Main & Oak Event Planner

I’ve always been drawn to the magic of events—the way a beautifully designed invitation, a thoughtfully set table, or the aroma of great food can spark a feeling of connection and celebration. Even as a kid, I was the one quietly noticing those details and dreaming about creating that same special atmosphere for others. That love for meaningful moments stuck with me and grew into a career centered on planning events that people truly remember.

I was born in Oregon and raised in Linn County, where I’m now raising my own family. Being part of this community means everything to me, and over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with people and organizations across the region. Those connections help me bring trusted partners and a personal touch to every event I plan. For me, it’s not just about the logistics—it’s about creating a seamless experience so hosts and guests can focus on what really matters: being present and enjoying the moment.

My career began in the medical field as a surgery scheduler. Picture an air traffic controller for operating rooms—every minute counts, and you have to pivot on a dime. I loved the fast pace and the teamwork it took to keep the whole department running smoothly. That experience taught me how to stay calm under pressure and collaborate with a team—skills that are invaluable in event planning.

After that, I transitioned into marketing, working as a Marketing Officer for a financial institution. I planned everything from shareholder meetings and board retreats to networking receptions and corporate celebrations. Balancing budgets, coordinating logistics, overseeing branding, and engaging audiences were all part of the job. I found joy in blending creativity with strategic planning to bring a clear vision to life, making sure every event aligned perfectly with the company’s goals.

Later, I moved into the nonprofit world, where I learned to be resourceful, intentional, and community focused. Working alongside passionate teams who genuinely cared about making a difference inspired me daily. It deepened my belief that events can be powerful tools to connect people and build stronger communities.

That passion led me to start a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in my hometown, dedicated to bringing people together and creating opportunities for the next generation. What started as a small group with big ideas has grown into something really special. We’ve launched a farmers market, organized a citywide Harvest Festival, and built school and business partnerships that have real impact. One of our proudest goals is developing a scholarship fund to help local students take important steps toward their futures.

Main and Oak grew from that same simple idea: I love bringing people together and making events feel truly special. You should get to enjoy every moment of your celebration without stressing over the details—that’s the work we love to do.

Co-Owner, Main & Oak Event Planner

I believe that the most meaningful moments in life are often born from the smallest acts of kindness—a thoughtfully prepared meal, a handwritten note, a vase of flowers that makes someone feel truly seen. These simple yet powerful gestures have shaped how I live my life and especially how I approach event planning. For me, planning an event is not just about logistics; it’s about crafting heartfelt experiences that bring people together and celebrate the beauty found in every detail.

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, where I spent much of my childhood working alongside my father, a French trained chef who ran a restaurant and catering business. This early connection to entertainment taught me just how many thoughtful details go into serving a meal to a large gathering. From the careful prep work in the kitchen - chopping, seasoning, plating - to the rhythm of service that keeps everything flowing seamlessly, I learned the importance of timing, precision, and teamwork. I saw how the arrangement of tables, the lighting, the background music, and even the choice of linens could shape the entire mood of an event. Those experiences taught me that food is only part of the experience.

After moving to Oregon to attend Lewis and Clark College, I spent nearly 3 years in Atlanta working in employment law, then nearly a decade living and working in San Francisco.  There, I built a career in human resources and operations, where I worked in publicly traded companies, including a high end gift retailer and a global digital advertising agency. Various industry experience helped develop skills in managing complex projects, supporting people across the globe, and blending creativity with organization—strengths I now bring to every event I plan.

Eventually, my husband Judd and I returned to Oregon and made our home in Albany. We live in a historic house downtown with our son Niklas and our two noisy dogs, Casper and Alfons. Being a part of our community is very important to me, and I am honored to serve on the Albany Parks and Recreation Foundation, as well as a member of Albany Rotary. These roles allow me to give back and stay deeply connected to the place I love.

Before co-founding Main and Oak, I spent nearly a decade working with Linn-Benton Community College Foundation. There I coordinated golf tournaments, hosted galas (both in person and virtually!) as well as planned stewardship events for donors; events made up a majority of my work. Over time, I transitioned into managing government relations and fundraising, arranging ribbon cuttings, planning of large town halls for elected officials and creating events to gain closer community relations. I also focused on strategic storytelling, a skill I lean on when planning a themed event.

Main and Oak is the perfect blend of my personal passions and professional background—a way to bring joy, care, and intention to every gathering. I am dedicated to creating events that are not only beautiful but meaningful, offering people a space to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.

I am truly excited to bring these services and my experience to our community as a proud co-owner of Main and Oak Event Planner.

Let’s work together to make your next event unforgettable.
